Dr. Denise Jagroo, PT, DPT, MTC, WCS

Dr. Jagroo earned her doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from New York University in 2002. She is one of only a few hundred Board Certified Clinical Specialists in Women's Health Physical Therapy in the country.  She is also a specialist in Manual Therapy, and is certified in Pelvic Physical Therapy through the American Physical Therapy Association’s Women’s Health Section.

Dr. Jagroo is an Assistant Clinical Adjunct Professor at NYU. She is on the Faculty of the New York University Physical Therapy Department. She also lectures for the NYU Gynecology Department and the NYU Midwifery Department. She is well known for her lectures, where she travels nationally and internationally via continuing education companies and other healthcare related companies.  She lectures to healthcare providers regarding “Pelvic Health and Rehabilitation,” and throughout the years, her seminars have been attended by thousands of clinicians including obstetricians, nurse practitioners, physician’s assistants, midwives, physical therapists, occupational therapists, athletic trainers, dieticians, etc.  Her lectures are presented around the world to clinicians who want to learn about pelvic health topics that range from pregnancy to pelvic pain. 

Dr. Jagroo also teaches workshops regarding pelvic function, pregnancy and exercise as well as post-partum recovery. Her workshops have included audiences such as Moms of Multiples Club of Staten Island, Club H Fitness Center clientele in Manhattan, and her own community members in Staten Island.  Dr. Jagroo also presents at Womens Veterans Health Conferences every year at the Manhattan and Brooklyn Veterans Hospitals. Dr. Jagroo was asked to be a keynote speaker at the Veteran’s Hospital Gynecology Conference in Orlando in June of 2019. She spoke about Chronic Pelvic Pain and effective treatments. Dr. Jagroo has taught several Grand Round lectures at both the Manhattan Veterans Hospital as well as Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island. She presented on Pelvic Rehab and Manual Therapy topics to physiatrists, physical and occupational therapists.  Dr. Jagroo has also presented at the 2012 and 2013 Annual Combined Sections Meeting (National Conference) of the American Physical Therapy Association, where over 10,000 physical therapists attend the conference annually. Dr. Jagroo was asked to be a speaker at the 3rd International Conference and Exhibition in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.  Dr. Jagroo has presented on women’s health topics regarding pelvic floor dysfunction and central sensitization.

In 2011, Dr. Jagroo established her private physical therapy practice, now located in midtown Manhattan, where she specializes in Pelvic, Obstetric and Orthopedic dysfunctions.  In 2008, she established a pelvic rehabilitation clinic at the Manhattan Veterans Hospital, where she treats female and male soldiers with pelvic conditions.

Dr. Jagroo is consistently featured as a medical expert in the media.  She was recently a guest on Arise News and "Health Talk with Dr. Manny Alvarez" on Fox News speaking about her book and pregnancy.  She blogs for several sites including www.rzbeyondmom.com, www.thethreetomatoes.com and www.spafinderwellness365.com.   She has been quoted as a pelvic health expert in the Daily Mail and has been a guest on several national radio shows including the Sports Medicine Doctor Radio show on Sirius XM.
